Our club is made up of many different entities and organisations to keep it running.

Below you can read all about our hardworking teams that make up all the integral building blocks of The Hague Hornets.

Rugby

Technical committee

The Technical Committee is made up of our trainers, from both our ladies’ and gents’ teams, as well as the team captains and of course our Sports Secretary. The Sport s Secretary offers a bridge between the day to day workings of the club and our members to our board. Tasks include overseeing the different games, communicating with opponents, arranging referees if need be, and overall communication between each member of the committee.

Club referee’s

Every year we elect a few of our members who volunteer their time to referee a number of games, both our own and other teams’ games.

Team captains

The team captains have a number of different responsibilities. Among leading their respective teams, they have to stay in communication with our Sports Secretary, coaches and Secretary. They keep an overview of their teams, keeping the players focused and motivation during trainings and games and providing overall leadership and stability.

Social activities

Social committee

The social committee is led by our Social Secretary and consists of a number of members that are part of organising the social events, running the social media accounts, the website, and releasing the quarterly club news letter. Additionally, the committee is also in charge of overseeing the sale of club merchandise.

Tour committee

The tour committee has the exciting job of organising and planning all trips and tours within the year. Such tours include our yearly Fresher’s Weekend to a fellow student club for a friendly match and joint club time. Additionally they ensure our yearly appearance at the Ameland Beach Festival, which wouldn’t dream of missing.

Dinner committee

As the name states, this committee is in charge of our weekly Tuesday dinners. A number of our social and regular members help out with planning and cooking the meals we serve after our training sessions, alongside a lot of gezelligheid.

Support & Control

Council of Elders

This ominous sounding committee is made up with past authority figures that once held important positions at the club, such as past board members and presidents. They are able to provide the current president and board with valuable opinions or assistance should they be in need of it, due to their past experiences.

Acquisition committee

The acquisitions committee led by the our Treasurer and looks into finding funding, grants, and general sponsorship deals for the club.
